Dronacharya PG College of Education, Rait celebrated World Earth Day in collaboration with Dronacharya Environment Club, was Organized by: Forum for Awareness of National Security (FANS), Dharamshala Chapter – 1 The theme of the event was, ‘Invest in our Planet’. The Chief Guest of the event was Sh. Raj Kishore Prajapati ( Sec. FANS New Delhi) and Keynote Speaker of the event was Professor Deepak Pant Deptt. of Environmental Sciences CUHP, President Awardee Innovator.

Executive Director Dr.B.S Pathania, Principal Dr. Parveen Kumar Sharma welcomed the Chief Guest and the Keynote Speaker.

The programme commenced with lightning of lamp ceremony to Goddess Saraswati and bouquet were given to the chief guest and keynote speaker.

The keynote speaker of the event Professor Deepak Pant shared his view on ‘Waste can be disaster’, how we can save our environment, to manage the plastic, the cause of deforestation. He also shared his view on the hipping of cow dung and it’s myth, garbage mountains heap as disaster. Prof. Deepak Pant described his view on organic impurity, solid waste management project, the process of restoring water, problems due to improper landfill sites, ground water contamination, modern sanitary landfill. In a short glance college cultural committee organized a group dance for highlighting diversity and cultural heritage of different districts of Himaachal Pradesh.

The Executive Director B. S Pathania shared his view on how can be beautified our earth if we were given our optimum use for the saving our earth and work on it’s threaten aspects for the future generations.

Sh. Raj kishore Prajapati (Sec. FANS New Delhi) the honourable chief guest of the occasion shared his view that environment repair themselves by own. The only things to protected it by making proper use of dustbin, keen awareness about environmental hazard.

At the end of the event some general question asked by the students in front of the keynote speaker about environmental issues.

In exhibition best presentation were given by Isha Dhiman and Sunaina on vermi composting, along with certification were given to the members of Environment Club of the college by the chief guest. A sapling was planted in college premises on World Earth Day

The event was concluded with the proposing of vote of thanks by Dr. Gouri Shankar Sahu Assistant Professor CHUP to the chief guest and Keynote speaker.
