Dronacharya PG College of Education, Rait, organized a vibrant two-day summer camp, “Spectrum-2024,” for students from 6th to 12th classes with the theme of “Discovering the Extraordinary: Unleash, Explore, and Grow.” The camp aimed to provide a holistic learning experience, blending cultural traditions with modern educational content.
The event commenced with a ceremonial lighting of the lamp before Goddess Saraswati, with enthusiastic participation from the students. Dr. B.S. Pathania, the Executive Director of the college, graced the event as the chief guest, adding significance to the occasion. The first day began with a calming meditation and deep breathing session, fostering a focused mindset among the participants. This was followed by an engaging session on maintaining a healthy mind and harnessing the power of affirmations to promote positive thinking and personal growth. Throughout the day, students were engaged in various activities such as Etiquettes and Effective Study Habits, Musical Chair Games, Handwriting and Picture Story Competitions, Best Out of Waste, Essay Writing, a Computer Skills Workshop, Talent Hunt, Modelling, Dance, and Singing sessions, each led by specialists.
The second day of the camp continued with the same fervor, starting with yoga, meditation, and Zumba dance sessions to invigorate the students. Various competitions and activities were held, including a session on Brain Science, Vedic Mathematics, Goal Setting, Extempore, Art and Craft, Essay, Painting, Dance, Singing, Modelling and Quiz competitions. In the Extempore Competition, Tanishk from Mount Carmel School, Gaggal secured the first position, followed by Kanika and Ritika in second and third places respectively. Ridhima from D.A.V. School, Palampur excelled in the essay writing and Picture Story Competition, securing the first position.
The Singing and Dance competitions saw spirited performances, with Tanishk from Mount Carmel School, Gaggal, and Khushi from Government School, Shahpur, taking the first positions in their respective categories. The Best Out of Waste competition highlighted the creativity of the students, with Ridhima from D.A.V. School, Palampur, securing the top spot. The quiz competition was a test of knowledge and teamwork, where Tanishq and Samar emerged as winners.
Special recognition was given to the students who were outstanding in the camp. Ridhima from D.A.V. Palampur became Spectrum Shining Star, Khushi from G.S.S. Shahpur was turned out to be Spectrum Dazzler, and Samar from Lawrence School, Shahpur received the Spectrum Flash Award. In the Junior category, Payal from G.S.S.S. Basnoor was honoured with the Spectrum Champ Award, and Shivam from G.S.S.S. Durgella won the Spectrum Appreciation Award.
The camp empowered students to discover and develop their talents through a blend of cultural and modern educational activities. The camp concluded with students enriched, inspired, and ready to unleash their potential.
