Dronacharya PG College of Education celebrates its annual fest NAVRANG 2024, “Where colours of diversity meet together“. The Navrang 2024 is based on the theme Ignite, Inspire and Transform. The annual fest has begun on 26th March 2024 and will end on 27th March 2024.
Day 1 :-
The annual fest commenced with seeking the blessings of Goddess Saraswati by lightening of the lamp ceremony. Maa Sharda group of the college also performed Saraswati Vandana for the occasion.
Superintendent of Police Kangra (Dharamshala) IPS Shalini Agnihotri was the chief guest of the morning session of the annual event. Dr. Vivek Sharma, Director cum Principal of GGDSD Rajpura was the guest of honour. Ms. Shivani Mehra(Assistant Professor, Kanta College of Education), Mr. Atul Acharya (Assistant Professor of Government College of Teacher Education Dharamshala), Mrs Samita Dhadwal (former faculty of Dronacharya College), Mr. Sandeep Kumar (D.P. Mount Carmel School, Gaggal), Mr. Sanjay Katoch ( D.P. Government Senior Secondary School Rehlu), Mrs Sangeeta Koundal (PGT Chemistry of Govt Senior Secondary School, Rait), Mr. Ashwini Dhiman (Retired Principal)and Mr. Rajeev Madley were the guests of honour.
The fest was followed by the floral welcome and pinning of the badges of Chief guest IPS Shalini Agnihotri and Guest of honour Dr. Vivek sharma along with all the guests of honour. Shanti group of the college performed auspicious Ganesh Stuti to inaugurate the annual event. Principal of Dronacharya PG College Rait, Parveen Kumar Sharma welcomed all the dignitaries and presented the Annual Report listing all the achievements by students and faculty of the year 2023. The annual event was jam packed with the Literary, Sports and Cultural events. Twelve Colleges from the Kangra district participated in the various Inter College competitions held in the annual event. The girls of BCA 2nd year presented Retro Bollywood Dance that recreated the historical dance moves and expressions of Indian Cinema. Shagun Bhatt and Pushpa of B.ed 2nd year enchanted everyone by singing melodious Pahadi songs. Simran Thapa of B.ed 1st year danced to Nepali tunes on the stage. Jhamakda Dance performance showcasing the culture of Kangra remained the highlight of the cultural event.
IPS Shalini Agnihotri addressed the students of college and educated them with the manipulation capabilities of the drugs saying, “Drugs are Thugs”. She also told the students to cultivate new friends and to make friends with failures embracing the struggles. She appreciated each and everyone who contributed to make the annual event presentable and successful.
Mr. Kartar Chand, HAS, SDM Shapur was the Chief guest of the evening session of the annual event. The event continued with his felicitation and floral welcome. In his address he encouraged the zeal and enthusiasm that students poured in various sports competitions. He said the life of a person should be easy-going and not complicated. He also told the students not to join the rat race of getting into civil services rather directed them to follow their interests. He said that one must find his area of interest as problem arises when we go against our nature. He concluded his address by motivating students to think positively. All the winners of the competitions were awarded in the award ceremony where Laveena Thakur of GCTE Dharamshala bagged the first position in Declamation Competition, Gyan Jyoti College of Education scored first position in Ad Mad Show, Dronacharya College of Education attained first position in Quiz Competition. Dronacharya College also remained successful in scoring first position in Basketball Competition and Volleyball Competition. GGDSD Rajpura bagged first position in Chess competition and Minerva College came first in Teaching Model competition. Ms. Vandana from B.Ed. department concluded the first day of the annual event NAVRANG 2024 by proposing vote of thanks.
Department of Computer Science organised the “Techathon 2024” competition in annual fest Navrang 2024 for BCA and PGDCA students. Techathon 24 was a Quick Website Development, Flyers, Poster, Quiz Game using Artificial Intelligence and Chat Bot programming Using AI based competition among the BCA and PGDCA students. The theme of this year Techathon competition was “Digital Literacy using ICT tools across the GLOBE”. Mr. Vijay Singh Pathania (CEO of Skyline Solutions) and Mr. Sachin Guleria (Technical Head, Skyline Solutions) were the judge for the Techathon 24.

NAVRANG 2024 (DAY 2) :-
Dronacharya PG College of Education Rait celebrated its annual fest NAVRANG 2024, “Where colours of diversity meet together”. The Navrang 2024 was based on the theme Ignite, Inspire and Transform. The two-day annual fest began on 26th March 2024 and ended on 27th March 2024.
The second day of NAVRANG 2024 unfolded with glitter and joy. Sh. Vikas Surjewala, Project Director NHAI was the Chief guest of the second day of the annual fest. Mr. G.S.Pathania (Managing Director of Daronacharya PG College, Rait), Dr. B.S. Pathania (Executive Director of Dronacharya PG College Rait), Vishvajeet Singh (Principal, GDC Shahpur), Dr. Pallavi Pandit (Director cum Principal of RBCE), Dr. Satish Thakur(Associate Professor, GDC Shahpur),J.S. Guleria(Head Master, Govt. High School Sidhbari), Mr. Mukesh Sharma (Project Director NHAI Palampur), Mr. Anup Kumar Das (Senior Representative of NHAI Palampur), Sh. Prakash Chand(Pradhan of Bagru), Mrs. Usha Dhiman (Pradhan of Durgela), Mrs. Neetu Walia ( Former Faculty Dronacharya PG College of Education), Chandni Prashar, Shivpal Guleria and Dilbag Guleria were the major guests of honour of the fest. The second day of the fest began with the lightening of the lamp ceremony, followed by pinning up of the badges and floral welcome of the Chief guest and all the dignitaries.
The fest proceeded with seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha in the form of Ganesh Vandna performed by Shakti group of the college.
Chief guest Sh. Vikas Surjewala awarded Master Nandan of BCA with Student of the Year award, Kartik of B.ed with the Best Anchor award and Ekta of BBA with Sincerity award. Assistant Professor Naveen Vashisht charmed everyone with his melodious voice by singing Pahadi songs. The annual event was followed by Inter College Duet-Dance Competition in which all the participants from various colleges amazed everyone with their performances. The next event, Inter College Solo Song competition brought a smile on the faces of audience.The audience enjoyed the vibrant performances of group dance competition which were the wonderful blend of grace and energy. The fest proceeded with the address of the chief guest. In his address the chief guest Sh. Vikas Surjewala motivated the students to perform well. He remembered his good old college days and wished for student’s bright future. He concluded the address expressing his gratitude to be the part of the fest.
The chief guest of the afternoon session was Sh. Kewal Singh Pathania, MLA Shahpur. The chief guest was felicitated with a badge and a flower pot. The Navdurga group of Dronacharya college gave the dance performance showing goddess Durga as the source of all power and strength.The annual fest continued with the Mime competition and Group-Dance competition comprising numerous brilliant and mesmerising performances of various colleges of the district including Sharan College of Education, Awasthi College of Education, KLB DAV College, Gyan Jyoti College of Education, HIET Shahpur,Minerva College of Education, GGDSD Palampur, GCTE Dharamshala and RC College of Education, Dhanot. Sh. Kewal Singh Pathania addressed the students and inspired them to reach heights in their lives. He said he believes a college is a Ramrajya where every student gets his right. He further said that a student needs a platform in order to reach heights and that platform is called college and he considers it a temple. He shared his story of how his college has remained turning point of his life. He concluded his address wishing students best of luck. Guest of honour, Dr. Vishvajeet Singh took the opportunity and addressed the students. He encouraged the students to frame a target and said there are terms and conditions that is needed to frame that target among which passion remains the supreme of all. He said there is no shortcut to success but we should never underestimate ourselves. He ended the address telling students to develop interest for getting better results.
Sh. Jitender Sodhi, chairman of Ayush Group of Companies was the chief guest of the evening session of the annual fest. The fest was followed by the felicitation of the chief guest. A special Gaddyali Naati representing Gaddi culture and Nuala was presented before the chief guest. The chief guest distributed the awards to the winners of competitions that were held in the day. Daronacharya PG College of Education bagged the first position in Inter College Duet Dance Competition and Inter College Song Competition whereas Awasthi College of Education ranked first in Inter College Group Dance Competition and Inter College Mime Competition. Gyan Jyoti College of Education and GGDSD Rajpur remained second and third in Inter College Duet-Dance Competition and a consolation prize was given to Sharan College of Education to appreciate their graceful, alluring and flawless performance. Daronacharya PG College of Education secured second position and Sharan College of Education remained in third in Inter College Group Dance Competition. Minerva College of Education and Awasthi College of Education were in second and third positions in Inter College Solo Song Competition. Daronacharya PG College of Education bagged second position and Gyan Jyoti College of Education secured the third position in Inter College Mime Competition. Executive Director Dr. B.S. Pathania congratulated all the winners and appreciated their efforts and hard work.
The fest approached the most awaited event of the evening, the Modelling Competition named Sangam where Aditya Rana and Ananya Sambyal won the titles of Mr. and Miss Navrang, Arvind Attri and Komal were the title holders of Mr. and Miss Personality, Parvesh and Prerna Gurung became Mr. and Miss Best Walk titlists and Aditya Dhadwal and Ankita Verma triumphed Mr. and Miss Best Dress Code title.
The voice of Indian Idol and alumni of Daronacharya PG College if Education Anuj Sharma enthralled the audience by creating an electrifying stir amoung them for almost two hours.The accompanying orchestra of The Brother’s Band was excellent and all the students danced their heart out which added lustre to his performance. The fest ended with the final vote of thanks rendered by Executive Director Dr. B.S. Pathania.
