The Sanjeevani Club of Dronacharya PG College of Education celebrated the Srimad Bhagavad Gita Jayanti Mahotsav.
The Sanjeevani Club of Dronacharya PG College of Education celebrated the Srimad Bhagavad Gita Jayanti Mahotsav with grandeur and spiritual fervor from December 9 to December 11, 2024. The three-day event blended devotion, wisdom, and cultural activities, inspiring students and attendees to embrace the timeless teachings of the Bhagavad Gita.
The college was deeply honoured with the presence of Swami Prakarshanand, Acharya of Sandeepany Himalayas, Chinmaya Tapovan Trust, Sidhbari, as the chief guest and Pandit Badrinath Prashad and Prof. Yogendra Verma, Head of Sanskrit, Pali, and Prakrit at the Central University of Himachal Pradesh as the guest of honour of the day. Managing Director, Mr. G.S. Pathania, Executive Director, Dr. B.S. Pathania, Smt. Shanti Devi, revered mother to both the Directors, Prinicipal Dr. P.K. Sharma graced the occasion with their presence in the Mahotsav. The event commenced with the sacred lamp-lighting ceremony, symbolizing the illumination of knowledge, followed by a gracious badge ceremony and a warm floral welcome extended to the chief guest and all esteemed dignitaries.
Swami Prakarshanand’s session was the central highlight of the event captivating audience with his profound spiritual insights. He began his session with a soul-stirring bhajan that set a spiritually uplifting tone for the day. His address delved deep into the teachings of the Bhagavad Gita, emphasizing the transformative power of right knowledge and right action in leading a meaningful and happy life. He inspired the audience with his mantra, “Wherever your energy flows, that grows,” urging students to channel their energy constructively.
Towards the end of his session, Swami Ji took part in an insightful Question and Answer round, addressing the students’ queries and concerns with great compassion and wisdom. He encouraged them with an analogy from Arjuna’s feelings on the battlefield before the war, where Lord Krishna urges Arjuna to stop weeping and complaining, and instead, to stand up and accept the circumstances with courage and resolve. Swami Ji emphasized the importance of not succumbing to negativity and urged students to safeguard their minds from pessimistic thoughts. His words resonated deeply with the students, motivating them to face challenges with resilience and clarity.
Following Swami Prakarshanand’s enlightening address, the event continued with the wisdom and insights of Pandit Badrinath Prashad, whose recitations of shlokas bridged the ancient teachings of the Gita with contemporary relevance. His words stressed the importance of morality, compassion, and purpose in life, reinforcing the timeless values found in the Bhagavad Gita.
Prof. Yogendra Verma, Head of Sanskrit, Pali, and Prakrit further motivated the students with his reflections on the power of karma, persistence, and the profound life-changing significance of the Gita. His address inspired the students to embrace the teachings of the Gita as a guide to navigating life’s challenges with strength and clarity.
Throughout the event, students actively participated in enriching activities. The Sanskrit group presented a mesmerizing song that beautifully conveyed the Gita’s wisdom, followed by a meditation and yoga session conducted by Dr. B.S. Pathania, which helped attendees connect more deeply with their inner selves. A lively Gita quiz ignited enthusiasm and tested the audience’s knowledge of the scripture.
A delightful prashad was also served to all the dignitaries, faculty members, and students, marking a moment of unity and spiritual connection.
The Mahotsav culminated in a heartfelt closing ceremony where outstanding students were honored with certificates and copies of the Bhagavad Gita. The event concluded on a spiritually uplifting note as Assistant Professor Naveen Vashisht enchanted the audience with his soul-stirring bhajans. Assistant Professor Anish Korla delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, bringing the Mahotsav to a graceful and inspiring close.
The Srimad Bhagavad Gita Jayanti Mahotsav was not merely an event but a profound spiritual journey, reaffirming the eternal relevance of the Bhagavad Gita’s teachings and leaving a lasting impact on each and every one.
