SPECTRUM 2018 (Day Wise Summary)

Day 1 SPECTRUM 19th July, 2018 

Three-day summer camp SPECTRUM-2018 from 19th to 21st July, 2018 for 9th to 12th class students commences at Dronacharya PG College of Education, Rait.

A three-day summer enrichment camp , SPECTRUM-2018 for 9th to 12th class students commenced at Dronacharya PG College of Education,Rait on 19th July 2018. SPECTRUM-2018 is an interactive ,fun and experiential learning initiative for igniting the minds of the students of 9th to 12th class. The theme for the free three-day summer camp is ‘Empowering youth for life skills, leadership and positive change’. Our well rounded summer camp endeavored to equip students with skill sets to become creative, dynamic, productive and confident individuals. It will provide a perfect opportunity for students to secure lifelong excellence and nurture their power of reasoning, analytical skills, decision-making, social and emotional skills, confidence building and Human values – all in an atmosphere of creativity and enrichment. The core ingredients of the three-day Summer Camp will comprise development of life skills i.e. Personality development,Time management,goal setting,communication skills, Awareness on Health, nutrition and Career Counselling,fun activities and Extempore; Dramatization and modeling ;Lectures and discussions; painting; and Video presentation;Yoga & Meditation for Holistic health and Quiz sessions. As many as 40 students across government and private school participated in Spectrum-2018. The anagram stands for S-Self Empowerment ,Positive Attitude-,E-Exploration,C-Competitiveness,-T-Tranformation, R- Radiance,U-Upskill, M-Mindfulness .
First day (morning session) Dr.Sunil Mehta, Principal,Govt.PG College,Dharamshala was the chief guest . Executive Director , Mr. B.S Pathania Dronacharya PG College of Education welcomed the chief guest. The inaugural ceremony commenced with lighting of the lamp ceremony followed by floral welcome of the chief guest. The session commenced with the outlining of major events in the three -day summer camp by Mr. Rajesh Rana (HOD,BCA). It was followed by self introduction by the participants. The chief guest in his address stressed on the importance of human values in developing the personality of an individual. He laid emphasis on positive attitude, passion and self confidence to achieve success in life. He further explained that all creatures are beautiful but it is our ego that creates obstacle in our path and leads to dishonesty, mistrust and jealousy. He exhorted students to respect their parents and seek their blessings and inculcate good values .He cited an inspiring anecdote related to his meeting with His holiness Dalai lama. Vote of thanks was proposed by HOD (BBA) Mr.Mukesh Sharma. The session on‘Vedic Maths for Rapid Mental Calculation Stone Painting was taken by Mr.Prabhjot Singh .He explained the tricks related to speed calculation in maths . Dr.Pallvi Pandit and Dr.Sapna Sen accompanied with teacher- trainees conducted a workshop on stone painting. Asst. Prof. Anish Korla spoke on the ‘Importance of Effective Communication Skills and conducted a running spelling game for the participants. Asst.Prof. Mr.Sanjay kumar(Music ) gave music lessons to students in keyboard and dholak.
A training in modelling (Ramp Walk) and dance skills was imparted byAsst. Prof. Shikha Pathania and Asst.Prof. Parul Mahajan .A team building activity in the form of balloon race was conducted for the participants tea. A sumptuous lunch was served to the participants at the conclusion of the first day of three-day summer camp.

Day 2 and 3 of Spectrum Summer Camp 2018

On the Second day ( 20th July,2018), the principal,Dr.B.S Bagh welcomed the chief guest,Dr. Saurabh, Govt.Hospital, Shahpur. In his his session, Dr.Saurabh acquainted students about Healthy diet and Nutrition.He stressed on the need for effective time management ,study habits. Zumba Dance (Exercises with Dance) Session on Life Skills, Memory and Mind Management Outdoor Games (Tug of war, Musical Chair, Blind Fold )Welcome Address Session on Healthy Diet and Nutrition Vote of Thanks A session on “Technology Impact in Day to Day Life was conducted by Mr. Sanjay bhargava, Ignite technologies.He emphasized the role of technology in the global economy.In the other session , Executive director ,Mr. B.S Pathania focused on the need for mind management in the students.He cited seven chakras and explained the significance of each chakra and the process to reenergize chakra for effective mind management. Mr. Nand Kishore, Physical Instructor conducted fun games such as musical chairs ,tag race.

The third day (21st July, 2018) of SPECTRUM-2018 began with the yoga and meditation session by Sh.C.L Dogra, Ex- marine officer and yoga teacher.He explained the importance of yoga and meditation in one’s lives.He performed yoga asanas and participant students participated in the session wholeheartedly. It was followed by an interactive session on ‘Career Counselling and Guidance’ by Training and Placement officer,Meghna Pathania. She enumerated the various career options for the students after 12th .She focused on the need for skill development of the students,Asst.Prof.Anish Korla conducted a language based activity in the form of an extempore competition.Mr.Mukesh Kumar ,HOD(BBA) delivered a presentation on success mantra of successful people-Time management and goal setting . An interactive quiz was organised for the participants by Training and Placement Officer, Ms.Meghna Pathania.
In the valedictory Group Captain,Amit Kumar Paul ,Principal,Sainik School ,Sujanpur was the chief guest.The valedictory commenced with the lighting of the lamp ceremony followed by floral welcome and badge ceremony.Executive Director,Mr.B.S Pathania welcomed the chief guest.He asserted that the three-day summer camp SPECTRUM-2018 is an innovative initiative to build confidence and provide fun based experiential learning to the students of Government and Private schools. Mr.Rohit (B.Ed. student) and Ms.Nitasha Sharma,GSSS,Shahpur regaled the audience with a melodious song .
Anurag and team(school students) showed their dancing skills.The chief guest,Group Captain,Amit Kumar Paul congratulated the Principal, faculty and members of the management in organizing such a unique enrichment three-day summer camp. He discussed the emerging career options in defence with the participants.He reiterated that life skills is all about bringing changes in one’s behavior and taking responsibility of one’s action. He stressed on the need for taking judicious risk to change the behavior and emerge successful in life. He motivated participants, students,faculty to reinvent themselves as to keep pace with the competitive world. He stressed on the skill development of the students to enhance chances of employability. Five top position holders were given prizes.All the participants were given certificate of appreciation. All the participants from various schools came together and performed ramp walking (modeling). In the finale,Mr.Tanishak was adjudged Mr.Spectrum whereas Ms. Nitasha Sharma was adjudged Ms.Spectrum-2018. Feedback and experience was shared by the participants. Managing director Mr. G.S. Pathania, Executive director Mr. B.S. Pathania along with Principal Dr. B.S. Bagh honoured Chief guest and Guest of honor with memento, Pahari topi and Shawl. The event concluded with the proposing the vote of thanks by Mr.Rajesh Rana ,HOD (BCA).A sumptuous lunch was served to the participants at the conclusion of the three-day summer camp.
