A Grand culmination of two-day festivity, NAVRANG-2018 at Dronacharya P.G College of Education, Rait
NAVRANG-2018,“Where Colors of Diversity Meet Together” came to a befitting conclusion with Grand Finale of Mr. And Ms. Navrang-2018 contest. The theme of this year NAVRANG-2018 was “Envision, Explore and Connect”. This year at Annual Fest college students showed their talents and skills in State Level Seminar, Inter College Extempore Competition, Inter College Declamation Competition, Ad-Mad Show, Skill in teaching Competition ,Inter College Chess Competition, Inter College Basket ball Competition , Inter College Volley ball Competition, Inter College Group Dance Competition, Inter College Duet Dance Competition, Inter College Mime Competition, Inter College Solo Song Competition, Inter College Flower Pot Making Competition, Inter college hair style making competition, Inter college artificial flower making competition, Inter college painting competition, Inter College Face Painting Competition. A total of 08 colleges participated in varied events.
16th March, 2018 (Morning):-
In the morning, academic and cultural prizes were awarded to the students. Chief Guest for the Cultural events was Inspector General of Police, Northern Range, J.P. Singh Dharamshala (HP). Dr.B.S.Bagh welcomed the Chief guest.Sh. Surinder Singh Pathania, Joint Director, Prosecution was special guest of honor. The programme commenced with an invocation to Lord Ganesha by Brajeswari group. Western dance performance by Himalayan group Lamhe: A bollywood nostalgia ,weaved a magic and transported the audience to the world of bollywood. In his address, Inspector General of Police,Northern Range, J.P. Singh Dharamshala (HP) congratulated the college for organizing such a majestic function.He further asserted that students are fortunate to study in this college and ‘Devbhoomi’ Himachal is a perfect place for wholesome transaction of teaching and learning.He motivated students to follow their goals with dedication and devotion. In his own words, he described Navrang-2018, a ‘mesmerizing, astonishing and dazzling experience’. He stressed on development of soft skills among students as these skills will aid in reaching new heights in professional world.
Sh.Narinder Singh Pathania, Retd. Principal was special guest of honour. In his address, he congratulated all the participants for their enthusiasm and splendid performance. He cited famous lines from John Milton’s “Paradise Lost”. He said that ‘Unconquerable willpower and dedication can move mountains and one must always work hard to reach for the stars.’ Guest of honor,Sh. Satish Thakur gave power packed and sensational performance that delighted the audience. Abhavya Band played popular tracks and entertained the audience with their foot tapping music.
Afternoon Session:-
In the afternoon, Sh. Jagan Thakur, Sub-Divisional Magistrate, Shahpur was the Chief Guest. The chief guest in his speech dwelt on the theme of NAVRANG-2018. He stressed that students need to learn proper time management for achieving success in their lives. He cited an example of an incident related to Mahatma Buddha showing the significance of consciousness, compassion and creativity in life.
In Inter college Role play competition, Team from Dronacharya secured first position. Team from Sharan College of Education secured second position whereas Team from Govt. College, Dharamshala secured third position.
In Inter college Mime competition, Team from Dronacharya secured first position. Team from KLB DAV, Palampur secured second position whereas Team from Sharan College of Education,Ghurkari secured third position.
In Inter college chess competition, Anshul from Dharamshala secured first position. Avijeet from Awasthi College of Education secured second position. Rohit from Dronacharya College secured third position whereas Keshav from Dronacharya college secured consolation prize.
In Inter college Ad Mad Show, Team of Govt. College, Dharamshala secured first position. Team of KLB DAV, Palampur secured second position whereas Team of Dronacharya College secured third position.
In Inter college Solo Song competition, Rohit from Dronacharya College secured first position. Nitesh from Awasthi College of Education secured second position whereas Abhilesh from Govt. College, Dharamshala secured third position.
In Inter college Duet dance competition, Team of KLB DAV, Palampur secured first position. Team from Dronacharya College secured second position whereas Third position was shared by Team from Kanta College of Education and Awasthi College of Education.
In Inter college Basketball Championship, Team from Govt. Degree College, Dharamshala was the winner whereas Team from Dronacharya PG College, Rait was runners up.
In Inter College Volleyball championship Team from ITI Shahpur was the winner whereas Team from Dronacharya College of Education, Rait was the runner up.
In Group Dance Competition, Team from Dronacharya College of Education secured first position. Second position was shared by Team from KLB DAV, Palampur and Awasthi College of Education. Third position was shared by Team from Kanta College of Education and Sharan College of Education.Dr. Parveen Kumar Sharma and Mr. Sunil Pathania were awarded by Dronacharya Award. National Awardee Dr. Janam Jai Guleria thrilled the audience with his melodious singing in the form of guest performance. He stressed on the importance of folk dance and folk songs as it is our prime duty to conserve and transmit our traditions and culture.
Mr. Gagan Verma – Super model universe 2016, Vibrant Mr. India , Mh One Nidarr Season 6 Winner enthralled the audience with his rap song performance. He guided students to build confidence by participating in such events and show case one’s talent. Best House of the year was awarded to Kalam House. In B.Ed. Department, Best student (Noor-e-ratan) was awarded to Ekta Dhawan. Best creativity award was given to Somu Koundal and Manisha Gupta. Best Dancer award was given to Shehnaz. Best Reader award was given to Ekta Dhawan and Nitika. In BBA & BCA department, best student award was given to Shweta Dhiman and Shivani respectively. Best Talent Award was given to Varun Sharma. Best anchor Award was given to Tammna Jaura. Sincerity award was given to Akshu Pathania and Shweta Chauhan. Managing Director, Mr.G.S. Pathania, Executive Director,Mr.B.S.Pathania, Principal, Dr.B.S.Bagh HOD, Dr.Praveen Sharma, Sh. Jatinder Guleria, Principal, Govt.Sr. Sec. School, Durgella, National Awardee Dr.Janam Jai Guleria, Music Teacher ,GSSS,Khaniara, Dr.Anil Jarial, Lect. GSSS Drini, Dr. Dinesh Dhiman, Principal, Awasthi College of Education, Ms. Neha Mishra, Asst. Prof. Govt. Degree College, Dehri, Sh. Gandharv Singh, Retd. Lt Commander, Sh. Ramesh Chand Mastana, Retd. Hindi Lect., Smriti Acharya and Arnav, Alumni, Sh. Surinder Singh Pathania, Joint Director Prosecution and members from Print Media were present during the mega event.Mr.B.S Pathania proposed vote of thanks and lauded the efforts of resource persons, judges, faculty, non teaching staff, media personnels, students in successfully organizing Navrang-2018.Video crew provided wonderful coverage of the event by making use of drone camera. Mr. Kumar Sahil,Voice of Himachal and Awaz Panjab Di, gave energetic,jaw dropping celebrity performance in the evening.He rgaled the audience with the Hindi and Panjabi Chart bursters. The two day festivity culminated with Mr. And Ms. Navrang-2018 where students of Dronacharya college walked the ramp in Indian and Western attire followed by a question and answer round. The finalists were asked a common question by Executive Director, Mr. B.S. Pathania.
Mr. Varun Sharma (BBA second year) was adjudged Mr. Navrang 2018 where as Ms. Shabnam (B.Ed. second year )won the Ms. Navrang 2018Title.
