Prizes galore at EXPLORICA -2017 , A Young Talent Hunt Contest; Rainbow International Public School,Nagrota Bagwan wins ‘TEJAS’ overall winner trophy

In continuation of a glorious tradition that was started in 2011, Dronacharya Post Graduate College of Education, Rait in association with Rotary Club, Shahpur organised EXPLORICA-2017, a Young Talent Hunt Contest on 23 November,2017. The theme of this year’s EXPLORICA was “Your talent is your obligation to the world”. This Talent Hunt event has evolved and grown in stature in a very short span of time. It provides a suitable platform to the government and private school students (10th to 12th class) from the state to exhibit creativity, ingenuity and talents. In this mega event more than 19 schools, and 140 participants participated in different events such as Declamation, Quiz, Collage, Painting Contest and Chess Competition. More than 25 teachers accompanied participants.
Morning Session
The EXPLORICA-2017 was inaugurated by the special guest of honor, Dr. Khem Raj Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of English and European languages, school of humanities and languages, CUHP. The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp ceremony. Managing Director, Mr.G.S. Pathania , Executive Director, Mr B.S. Pathania, Principal, Dr.B.S Bagh accompanied the guest on the stage. It was followed by melodious invocation to Goddess Saraswati in the form of song by the girls. Principal, Dr. B. S. Bagh welcomed the guest. In his speech, Dr. Khem Raj Sharma congratulated the college in organising EXPLORICA-2017. He asserted that such a platform provides an opportunity to explore something new. He added that Dronacharya always make efforts to provide a platform for the students to reach greater heights . He motivated the students to be techno-friendly by keeping in mind the pros and cons of the technology. He stressed on the need to develop communication skills for personality development.
In the Post lunch session, Sh. Nand Lal Samyal, Ret.Principal, Accountant General was the chief Guest. Sh. R.S. Guleria, Kangra Herbs Pvt. Ltd. and Sh. Pauav Arora, expert in Tally, skill development programme in H.P., J & K, Punjab and Haryana were other dignitaries. The Chief guest and other guests were greeted with a classical dance performance by dazzling Praveen and group, students from B.Ed. department. Deeksha and Deepika Negi, B.Ed. students regaled the audience with the melodious Himachali songs. In his address, Sh. Nand Lal Samyal, Rtd. Principal, Accountant General congratulated the members of management, faculty and students for organising Young Talent Hunt Contest EXPLORICA-2017 for school students on a grand scale. He asserted that education and literacy are two different things as education provides sense of right and wrong. He also added to his views that education provides direction to humans. He focused on the development of Attitude ,Skill and Knowledge among students.He further added that such events provide grand opportunity to build confidence in students.The Chief Guest felicitated the prize winners of various events. The faculty members accompanying participants as well as participants were offered sumptuous refreshment and lunch.
