Mega Health Camp – Mahadaan, ( Embracing Holistic Health and Wellness) at Dronacharya Post Graduate College of Education Rait

Dronacharya Student Council Association and Rotaract Club in association with Rotary Club Shahpur organised Mega Health Camp (Embracing Holistic Health and Wellness) comprising Blood donation Camp (Mahadaan) Eye check up , Dental check up and Health Check-up Camp on 10 February 2024 at Dronacharya PG College of Education, Rait.
The chief guest of the programme Dr. Sandeep Mahajan (Director, SM Eye Hospital) inaugurated the event .In this mega camp, blood donation camp was organised.General health, eyes ,teeth of the students as well as of teachers were examined. A team from Dr. Rajendra Prasad Government Hospital Tanda organised the Blood Donation Camp and S.M. Eye Hospital contributed in the Eye check-up camp. Dr. Sangeet Verma, and team from Verma Dental Clinic Kangra were present for dental check-up in the college. Whereas, Shrikant Lagwal and his team from Kant Clinic, Shahpur performed holistic health check up. Dr. B.S. Pathania, Executive Director of Dronacharya PG College was the first person to donate blood.Speaking on the occasion, the Chief Guest,Dr. Sandeep Mahajan highlighted the importance of blood donation and asserted that blood donation saves precious lives so everyone should donate blood from time to time. He also cited examples , shared facts and empowering slogans to address the importance of blood donation and eye care health .In his welcome address,Dr. BS Pathania , Executive Director asserted that most people are afraid of donating blood, but they should feel free to donate blood. Mr. Parminder Singh(DO, LIC India, Dharamshala,98 donor for 98 times ) and Dr. Sangeet Verma ,Verma Dental Clinic Kangra also addressed and motivated the students for the noble cause .They guided students on blood donation and dental health and hygiene.About 70 students, 15 staff members donated their blood and more than 200 students got their health check-up done. On this occasion, a guest talk on Common Gynaecological Problems in Women’ was organized by the Women Cell of the college. Gynaecologist, Retd.Lt. Col. Dr. Rohin Kumar educated the students of the college on the topic “Common Gynaecological Problems in Women.” Other special guests of the occasion were Dr. Shrikant Lagwal (Kant Clinic, Shahpur), Mr. Parminder Singh(DO, LIC India, Dharamshala), Dr. Payal Mahajan(MO, RPGMC,Tanda) ,Yogacharya Rajnesh Kumar (70 times blood donor) and Mr. Ashwini Dhiman, (President, Rotaract Club Shahpur). Students, faculty members and staff of the college participated wholeheartedly in the Health Camp .The team of doctors appreciated the participants , students , faculty and members of management for the successful organisation of camp and making it a huge success. Refreshment and a Certificate of Appreciation were provided to each donor as a token of gratitude.
