"दक्षता” Teaching Competition @ Dronacharya College

A “Teaching Competition” was organized by Block Teaching Committee of Dronacharya P.G. College of Education on the theme “दक्षता” on the occasion of Basant Panchami. Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Sood, School of Education, CUHP was the chief guest for the occasion. The event begins with the lighting of the lamp ceremony to Goddess Saraswati. Furthermore a floral welcome was given to the chief guest by Managing Director Sh. G.S. Pathania,  Executive Director Dr. B. S. Pathania and Principal of the college Dr. Parveen Kumar Sharma. Ms. Richa, B.Ed. 1st Year pupil teacher introduced the chief guest to all the students. During the interaction with students Prof. (Dr.) Vishal Sood emphasized that teaching is not a mechanical aspect it is a noble profession and social service and there should be parently figure in teacher to mould the behaviour of his students. A teacher should be a keen observer in every moment of life and share practical knowledge with students. He said that students should not overly dependent on smartphones and their focus should be on books rather than e-books and students should not follow shortcuts for long term achievement. He asserted that language is a source of knowledge and teachers should emphasize that language through which one can easily share their experience with students. Executive Director, Dr. B. S. Pathania, appreciated the way the whole event was organised and thanked the chief guest for sparing his valuable time for the programme. Chief guest for the occasion was felicitated with pahari topi and Momento as a token of gratitude for his kind presence during the event by Executive Director, Dr. B. S. Pathania and Principal Dr. Parveen Kumar Sharma. One Student from each micro group was adjourned on various parameters by the judges appointed for the cause Associate Professor Dr. Rajinder Singh, CUHP and Assistant Professor Shivani Mehra, Kanta College of Education Chalwara. Astha, Arpana, Divya, Rukmani, Rubina, Pitamber, Tanuja, Munish, Ankita, Shweta, Nancy, Mansi, Ankita from respective micro groups participated in the “Teaching Competition”. Time duration for each participant was 10 to 13 minutes to deliver the content. Students were extremely enthusiastic while delivering their content with appropriate skills and Teaching Aids to enhance the quality of the subject’s content and to make it more interesting and easy for the students to understand. During the second session, the rest of the participants delivered their content and the result was announced thereafter. Divya Rana from Eklavya group, Tanuja from Adi Shankracharya group,  and Mansi from Abhivridhi group were declared as first, second and third respectively. At the end, Abhilash from B.Ed. 1st Year thanked everyone who implicitly or explicitly played their role in the successful completion of the event and wished everyone a happy learning. The programme ended with a group photograph of principal, Judges, faculty members and all the participants.
