International Human Rights Day (10th Dec) was celebrated at DPGCE, Rait on 8th Dec, 2017

International Human Rights Day (10th Dec) was celebrated in Dronacharya PG College of Education, Rait, Kangra on 8th December 2017. The theme of this programme was “Role of Youth in Promotion and Protection of Human Rights for a dynamic new age.” Mrs. Neha Dahiya, Secretary District Legal Services Authority, Kangra at Dharmshala was honorable Chief Guest. The programme commenced with the lightning of the lamp ceremony. Managing director, Mr. G.S. Pathania, Executive director, Mr. B.S. Pathania, Principal Dr. B.S. Bagh accompanied the guests on the stage. It was followed by melodious sarswati vandana and floral welcome of guest.
In her speech, Mrs. Neha Dahiya talked about her main work areas and briefly explained fundamental rights and duties. She talked about free legal redressal and help for poor people. She shared her experiences as a Secretary District Legal Services Authority. She focused on women rights, child labor and right to education. Further she stressed on the basic provisions of the law at different levels. At the end, she concluded her speech in a single line “Stand for your rights but don’t forget your duties as both are two faces of the same coin.”
